About
Back in 1973, a group of friends decided to share their interest in Walloon folk music and formed " Les Coulonneux". The instrumental structure is determined by the line-up: flute, violin, cello and keyboards. "Julverne" released then its first album: "Coulonneux-Julverne". Three others follow: "Julverne à neuf", "Emballade", "Ne parlons pas de Mahleur". This CD has a clear preference for tracks with a classical sound, either with a slightly naive -almost clumsy- feel or with a more cerebral touch. It is a style of writing which has been refined over the years, with the input of composers such as Jeannot Gillis, Pierre Coulon, J-P Laurent and M.BERCKMANS as well as the performers of the current line-up: four string and three wood instruments with a piano and occasional singer.
